GYM SHOES

All students must keep a pair of gym shoes at school in the classroom. They will put these shoes on for gym class. We do this to keep the fieldhouse clean from outside mud and wetness. Please make sure your students can tie their shoes or wear shoes with straps if they do not know how.  :-) Thank you!!

Kokomo Sports Center- Try-athalon

The Kokomo Sports Center is holding a Try-athalon for kids age 5-18. There are different age groups and divisions. I think this seems like a neat opportunity for kids to be involved in. For more information and to print a registration form, go to the following link:

Junior Olympics 2011

We have had a very exciting week of Junior Olympics! Although most of the classes could not go outside due to rain, we are so fortunate to have the Fieldhouse facility. We were able to adjust and run all of the events we had planned! As a recap, the field events that the students were able to participate in were Softball throw, Long Jump, Tug of War, Jump Rope, and High Jump. The running events varied from shorter distance to longer distance runs: 60 meter hurdles, 50 meter sprint, 100 meter run, 200 meter, 400 meter, 600 meter, and 800 meter run. Different grade levels had different options for field events and running events. We want to thank all of the parent volunteers that helped this big event run successfully! We could not have done it without you. I have posted some of the photos that Mike Wise of http://www.mikewisephotos.com/ took at the Junior Olympics. If you have any photos that you would like to share, just email me the files at kristine.miller@nwsc.k12.in.us
